Artist Bio:
Smokey Robinson, born William Robinson Jr. in 1940, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for being the founder and frontman of the popular R&B group, The Miracles. Robinson played a significant role in shaping the sound of Motown Records in the 1960s, writing and producing numerous hit songs for the label. Some of his most famous compositions include "The Tracks of My Tears," "Tears of a Clown," and "You've Really Got a Hold on Me."


In addition to his work with The Miracles, Smokey Robinson had a successful solo career, releasing several solo albums and singles that have also been well-received by critics and fans alike. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and has received numerous awards for his contributions to music, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.
