Artist Bio:
Solomon Burke, born in 1940 and passing away in 2010, was an American singer and songwriter known for his smooth and powerful voice. He was a pioneer of soul music and is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Soul." Burke released numerous hit songs throughout his career, including "Cry to Me" and "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love."


In addition to his successful music career, Burke was also a preacher and had a strong influence on gospel music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 and received a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2003. Throughout his life, Solomon Burke made a significant impact on the music industry and continues to be remembered as a legendary figure in soul music.
