They were known for their smooth harmonies and catchy hooks, which helped them gain popularity in the urban music scene. Somethin' for the People released their debut album "This Time It's Personal" in 1994, which included the hit single "My Love is the Shhh!" featuring singer Trina & Tamara. The song peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and helped the group establish themselves in the music industry.
