Sonny & Cher were an American pop music duo consisting of Sonny Bono and Cher. They were married in 1964 and began their musical career together shortly after. The duo rose to fame in the 1960s with their hit song "I Got You Babe," which became their signature song. Sonny & Cher became known for their unique blend of pop, rock, and folk music, as well as their distinctive fashion sense.
In addition to their music career, Sonny & Cher also had a successful television variety show called "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour," which aired from 1971 to 1974. The show was a huge success and helped solidify their status as pop culture icons. Despite their divorce in 1975, Sonny & Cher continued to collaborate musically and remained popular in the entertainment industry. Cher went on to have a successful solo career, while Sonny pursued a career in politics before his untimely death in a skiing accident in 1998.
