The Sons of Champlin is a rock band from Marin County, California, formed in the 1960s. The band was known for blending elements of rock, jazz, soul, and R&B in their music, creating a unique and eclectic sound. They were part of the San Francisco music scene during the 1960s and 1970s, alongside bands like the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane.


The Sons of Champlin released several albums throughout the years, including their self-titled debut album in 1969. Despite never achieving mainstream commercial success, the band gained a loyal following for their musical innovation and high-energy live performances. The Sons of Champlin continue to perform and record music, with founding member Bill Champlin going on to achieve further success as a member of the band Chicago.
