Artist Bio:
Spanky and Our Gang was an American 1960s folk-rock band known for their vocal harmonies and a mix of pop, folk, and rock sounds. The band was formed in 1966 in Chicago, Illinois, and their name was inspired by the Our Gang comedies. They gained popularity with their hit singles "Sunday Will Never Be the Same" and "Lazy Day," both of which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Spanky and Our Gang's music often featured socially conscious lyrics and a sunny, upbeat sound that resonated with the counterculture of the 1960s. The band broke up in 1969 after releasing three studio albums and several hit singles. Despite their relatively short career, Spanky and Our Gang left a lasting impact on the folk-rock music scene of the 1960s.
