Spanky and Our Gang was an American 1960s sunshine pop band led by Elaine "Spanky" McFarlane. The band was known for their catchy melodies, vocal harmonies, and upbeat lyrics. They achieved mainstream success with their 1967 hit single "Sunday Will Never Be the Same", which reached number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Spanky and Our Gang's music was characterized by a blend of folk, pop, and rock elements, and they were often compared to other popular acts of the era such as The Mamas & the Papas and The Lovin' Spoonful. The band released several albums throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, including their self-titled debut album in 1967. Despite their initial success, Spanky and Our Gang disbanded in 1970 due to internal conflicts and changing musical tastes.
