The Spice Girls is a British girl group formed in 1994. The group consists of members Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice). They gained worldwide fame with their debut single "Wannabe" in 1996, which topped the charts in 37 countries.


The Spice Girls became a global phenomenon in the late 1990s, known for their girl power message, catchy pop tunes, and unique individual personas. They released several successful albums, including "Spice" and "Spiceworld," and embarked on multiple world tours. The group went on hiatus in 2000 but reunited for a brief period in 2007 and again in 2019 for a UK and Ireland stadium tour. The Spice Girls are considered one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, having sold over 85 million records worldwide.
