Staind is an American rock band formed in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1995. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist Johnny April, and drummer Sal Giancarelli. Staind gained popularity in the early 2000s with their highly successful albums "Break the Cycle" and "14 Shades of Grey," which featured hit singles like "It's Been Awhile" and "So Far Away."
Known for their heavy yet melodic sound, Staind is often classified as alternative metal or post-grunge. The band has sold over 15 million records worldwide and received several Grammy nominations throughout their career. Staind went on hiatus in 2011 but reunited in 2019 for a series of live shows and announced plans for new music.
