Stargard was an American R&B, funk, and disco group formed in 1977. The group originally consisted of three female vocalists: Rochelle Runnells, Debra Anderson, and Janice Williams. They were known for their soulful harmonies, energetic performances, and catchy dance tunes. Stargard's music often featured a fusion of disco rhythms, funky basslines, and soulful melodies, making them a popular act in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Stargard released several albums throughout their career, including their self-titled debut album in 1978, which featured the hit singles "Which Way Is Up" and "Theme from 'Which Way Is Up'." The group continued to produce music into the early 1980s, with their last album "Nine Lives" released in 1982. Stargard's music has been celebrated for its infectious grooves and empowering lyrics, solidifying their place in the R&B and disco music scene of the late 1970s.
