Artist Bio:
Starpoint was an American R&B and funk band formed in 1980 in Maryland. The group was originally known as Licyndiana, but changed their name to Starpoint after signing with the Chocolate City label. The band's lineup consisted of Renée Diggs on vocals, Ernesto Phillips on guitar, George Phillips on keyboards, Gregory Phillips on bass, and Kayode Adeyemo on drums. Starpoint released their debut album, "Starpoint," in 1980, which included the hit single "I Just Wanna Dance With You."

In 1985, Starpoint achieved commercial success with their album "Restless," which featured the hit singles "Object of My Desire" and "What You Been Missin'." The band continued to release music throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s, with their style evolving from funk to a more contemporary R&B sound. Starpoint disbanded in the early 1990s, but their music continues to be celebrated by fans of 1980s R&B and funk.
