Artist Bio:
Stealers Wheel was a Scottish folk rock band formed in 1972 by songwriters Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty. The band's biggest hit was the single "Stuck in the Middle with You," released in 1972, which reached number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song gained renewed popularity when it was featured in Quentin Tarantino's film "Reservoir Dogs" in 1992. Stealers Wheel released three albums during their career: "Stealers Wheel" in 1972, "Ferguslie Park" in 1973, and "Right or Wrong" in 1975.
Despite their success, internal tensions and conflicts led to the band's breakup in 1975. Gerry Rafferty went on to achieve solo success with hits like "Baker Street" and "Right Down the Line." Joe Egan also pursued a solo career but did not achieve the same level of commercial success as Rafferty. Stealers Wheel's music continues to be celebrated for its blend of folk, rock, and pop influences.
