Artist Bio:
Stephen Stills-Manassas was a rock band formed by singer-songwriter Stephen Stills in 1971. The band's lineup included a mix of seasoned musicians from various backgrounds, including Chris Hillman and Al Perkins from The Flying Burrito Brothers, as well as Paul Harris and Dallas Taylor. Stills had previously been a member of Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, making Manassas his third major musical project. The band released two studio albums, "Manassas" in 1972 and "Down the Road" in 1973, which showcased a blend of rock, folk, blues, and country influences. The albums received critical acclaim and achieved moderate commercial success.
Despite the positive reception, internal conflicts and creative differences led to the disbandment of Stephen Stills-Manassas in 1973. Stephen Stills continued his solo career and collaborations with other artists, while the legacy of Manassas lives on through their influential and diverse music that continues to be appreciated by fans of classic rock.
