Stephen Stills is an American musician, singer, and songwriter who is best known for his work as a member of the rock band Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Born on January 3, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, Stills began his music career in the 1960s and gained fame for his intricate guitar work and soulful vocals. In addition to his work with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Stills has also released solo albums and collaborated with various other artists.


Stills is known for his politically charged lyrics and his contributions to the folk-rock and country-rock genres. He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, keyboards, and bass, and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice for his work with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Buffalo Springfield. Throughout his career, Stills has been recognized for his songwriting abilities, musicianship, and distinctive vocal style.
