Artist Bio:
Steppenwolf is a Canadian rock band that was formed in 1967 in Toronto, Ontario. The band is best known for their hit songs "Born to Be Wild" and "Magic Carpet Ride," which were both released in 1968. Steppenwolf was one of the most popular rock bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s, and they were known for their hard-hitting sound and rebellious attitude. The band's name was inspired by the novel "Steppenwolf" by Hermann Hesse, reflecting their interest in counterculture and existentialist themes.

Over the years, Steppenwolf went through several lineup changes, with founder John Kay being the only constant member throughout the band's existence. Despite these changes, Steppenwolf continued to tour and release music well into the 21st century. The band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2002, recognizing their significant contributions to the rock music scene.
