Steve Alaimo is an American singer, record producer, and actor born on December 6, 1939, in Omaha, Nebraska. He began his music career in the early 1960s, gaining popularity as a teen idol with hits such as "Every Day I Have to Cry" and "Mashed Potatoes." Alaimo was signed to the record label Checker Records, a subsidiary of Chess Records, and later to Atlantic Records.
In addition to his music career, Steve Alaimo also found success as a record producer, working with artists such as Sam & Dave and KC and the Sunshine Band. He was also a regular on the television show "Where the Action Is" in the 1960s. Alaimo's versatile talent led him to have a successful career in both music and entertainment, leaving a lasting impact on the industry.
