Alaimo also appeared on several television shows including Dick Clark's American Bandstand.
In addition to his singing career, Alaimo found success as a record producer, working with artists such as Betty Wright and KC and the Sunshine Band. He is credited with helping to shape the sound of the Miami music scene in the 1970s.
