Steve Lawrence, born Sidney Liebowitz on July 8, 1935, is an American singer and actor. He rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a solo artist and as a duo with his wife Eydie Gormé. Lawrence is best known for his hit songs such as "Go Away Little Girl" and "Footsteps." He has released numerous albums and has appeared in several television shows and films throughout his career.


In addition to his music career, Steve Lawrence has also made appearances on popular TV shows such as "The Carol Burnett Show" and "The Ed Sullivan Show." He has received multiple awards for his contributions to the entertainment industry, including a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1963.
