Artist Bio:
Sting, whose real name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, is a British musician, singer, songwriter, and actor born on October 2, 1951, in Wallsend, England. He first gained fame as the lead vocalist and bassist for the rock band The Police, which was formed in 1977. The band's hits include "Roxanne," "Message in a Bottle," and "Every Breath You Take." Sting embarked on a successful solo career in 1985 after The Police disbanded, releasing hit songs such as "Fields of Gold" and "Shape of My Heart."


Throughout his career, Sting has won multiple Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Song and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. He has also been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Police. Beyond music, Sting has shown his versatility by appearing in several films and television shows, as well as being involved in various philanthropic endeavors, including environmental activism and human rights advocacy.
