Sting, whose real name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, is an English musician, singer, and songwriter who was born on October 2, 1951, in Wallsend, England. He is best known for being the lead singer and bassist of the band The Police, which was popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The Police's hits include "Roxanne," "Every Breath You Take," and "Message in a Bottle." Sting eventually pursued a successful solo career, releasing albums such as "The Dream of the Blue Turtles" and "Ten Summoner's Tales."


In addition to his music career, Sting is also known for his philanthropic work and activism. He has been involved in various causes, including environmental conservation and human rights issues. Sting has won multiple Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Song, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. He has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Police.
