Sue Thompson is an American pop and country music singer who rose to fame in the 1960s. She was born on July 19, 1925, in Nevada, Missouri. Thompson's career took off when she signed with Hickory Records in the late 1950s and released several hit songs, including "Sad Movies (Make Me Cry)" and "Norman," both of which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


In addition to her success in the pop music genre, Thompson also had a successful career in country music. She recorded several country hits, including "Paper Tiger" and "James (Hold the Ladder Steady)." Thompson continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and she remains a respected figure in the music industry.
