Sugar Ray is an American rock band formed in Newport Beach, California in 1986. The band gained mainstream popularity in the late 1990s with their pop rock and alternative rock sound. The band's lineup consists of lead vocalist Mark McGrath, guitarist Rodney Sheppard, bassist Murphy Karges, drummer Dean Butterworth, and DJ Craig "DJ Homicide" Bullock.


Sugar Ray released their debut album, Lemonade and Brownies, in 1995, but it was their second album, Floored, released in 1997, that brought them commercial success. The album featured hit singles such as "Fly" and "Every Morning," which helped the band rise to fame. Sugar Ray continued to release music throughout the 2000s and 2010s, with their most recent album, Little Yachty, released in 2019. They are known for their infectious melodies, catchy hooks, and energetic live performances.
