Survivor is an American rock band formed in Chicago in 1978. The band was originally composed of guitarist/songwriter Jim Peterik, vocalist Dave Bickler, guitarist Frankie Sullivan, bassist Dennis Keith Johnson, keyboardist Daryl Dragon, and drummer Gary Smith. They are best known for their hit singles "Eye of the Tiger" and "Burning Heart," which were featured in the Rocky film series. "Eye of the Tiger" was their most successful song, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1982.
Survivor has released multiple albums over the years, including their self-titled debut album in 1980 and subsequent albums like "Vital Signs" and "When Seconds Count." The band has undergone several lineup changes throughout its history but has continued to tour and release new music. Survivor's music is characterized by their anthemic rock sound and powerful vocals, making them a prominent figure in the rock music scene of the 1980s.
