Susan Jacks is a Canadian singer and songwriter who gained fame as the lead vocalist of the popular 1960s and 1970s pop-folk group, The Poppy Family. Born Susan Pesklevits on October 19, 1948, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she began her music career as a solo artist before forming The Poppy Family with her then-husband, Terry Jacks. The group is best known for their hit songs "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" and "Where Evil Grows."
After The Poppy Family disbanded in the early 1970s, Susan Jacks continued to pursue a solo career and released several albums. She also collaborated with other artists, including Terry Jacks, and continued to perform in Canada. Susan Jacks remains a respected figure in the Canadian music industry, known for her distinctive vocals and contributions to the folk-pop genre.
