Talking Heads was an American rock band formed in 1975 in New York City. The band consisted of David Byrne (vocals, guitar), Chris Frantz (drums), Tina Weymouth (bass), and Jerry Harrison (keyboards, guitar). They were known for their distinctive blend of new wave, punk, funk, and world music, as well as their innovative use of music videos and visual performances. Talking Heads achieved commercial success with songs like "Once in a Lifetime," "Burning Down the House," and "Psycho Killer."
The band released eight studio albums between 1977 and 1988, with their critically acclaimed album "Remain in Light" often considered a landmark of the new wave genre. Talking Heads were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and their influence can be heard in a wide range of musical genres. Despite disbanding in 1991, Talking Heads' music continues to be celebrated for its creativity, experimentation, and lasting impact on the music industry.
