Tavares is an American R&B, funk, and soul music group formed in 1963 by five brothers from New Bedford, Massachusetts. The group consists of brothers Ralph, Arthur "Pooch", Antone "Chubby", Perry Lee "Tiny", and Feliciano "Butch" Tavares. They gained popularity in the 1970s with hits like "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel" and "More Than a Woman," which both reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Tavares has released over a dozen studio albums throughout their career, with their music often characterized by smooth harmonies and catchy melodies.
In addition to their musical success, Tavares has also been recognized with several awards, including a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
