Tears for Fears is an English pop rock band formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. They gained international fame in the 1980s with their hits such as "Shout", "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", and "Mad World". The band's music is characterized by their introspective lyrics and melodic pop sound, incorporating elements of new wave, synth-pop, and rock.


Tears for Fears released their debut album "The Hurting" in 1983, followed by their breakthrough album "Songs from the Big Chair" in 1985. The band continued to release music throughout the 1990s and 2000s, with their most recent studio album "The Tipping Point" released in 2022.
