Artist Bio:
Teddy Pendergrass was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his smooth and powerful voice in the genre of soul music. He rose to fame as the lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes in the 1970s before embarking on a successful solo career. Pendergrass was known for his hits such as "Close the Door," "Turn Off the Lights," and "Love T.K.O."


Throughout his career, Pendergrass released a number of successful albums and singles, earning him several Grammy nominations. He was also known for his electrifying performances and charismatic stage presence. Pendergrass tragically became paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident in 1982 but continued to make music and inspire fans until his passing in 2010 at the age of 59.
