Artist Bio

Artist Bio:
Teddy Riley is an American singer-songwriter, producer, and musician who is considered one of the pioneers of the new jack swing genre. He gained fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s for his production work with artists such as Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, and Keith Sweat. In 1987, Riley formed the group Guy with Aaron Hall and Timmy Gatling, and they released their self-titled debut album in 1988. The album was a commercial success, reaching number 27 on the Billboard 200 chart and producing hits like "Groove Me" and "I Like." Riley's innovative production techniques, blending R&B, hip-hop, and funk elements, helped to define the new jack swing sound and influence a generation of musicians.

Guy's second album, "The Future," was released in 1990 and featured the hit single "Let's Chill." The group disbanded in the early 1990s, but Riley continued to have a successful career as a producer and solo artist. Teddy Riley Featuring Guy released the single "My Fantasy" in 1989, which was a collaboration between Riley and his group Guy. The song was a moderate success, reaching number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
