She was one of the few white artists to find success on the Motown label, where she released several hit albums and singles throughout the 1980s.
Teena Marie's most famous songs include "Lovergirl," "Square Biz," and "Fire and Desire" featuring Rick James. She continued to release music and perform live until her passing on December 26, 2010, at the age of 54.
