Tennessee Ernie Ford was an American singer and television host, born on February 13, 1919, in Bristol, Tennessee. He rose to fame in the 1950s with his hit song "Sixteen Tons," which sold over 20 million copies and earned him a Grammy Award. Ford was known for his rich baritone voice and his unique blend of country, gospel, and pop music.


In addition to his successful music career, Tennessee Ernie Ford also had a prominent presence on television. He hosted his own variety show, "The Ford Show," which aired from 1956 to 1961. Ford was also a regular guest on other popular TV programs, including "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "The Tonight Show." Throughout his career, Ford released numerous albums, starred in movies, and continued to perform live until his passing on October 17, 1991.
