She was born on May 7, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio, and began singing at a young age, winning a talent contest at the age of two. Brewer's big break came in 1949 when she signed with London Records and released her first hit single, "Music! Music! Music!" which reached the top of the charts.
Throughout her career, Brewer recorded over 600 songs in various genres including pop, jazz, and country. She was known for her distinctive voice and bubbly personality, which endeared her to audiences worldwide. Brewer had several other hit songs, including "Till I Waltz Again with You" and "Ricochet (Rick-O-Shay)." She continued to perform and record music until her death on October 17, 2007, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the music industry.
