He is best known for his hit song "Seasons in the Sun," which was released in 1974 and became a worldwide success, reaching number one on the charts in multiple countries. The song was a cover of a French song originally titled "Le Moribond" by Jacques Brel.
Aside from his solo music career, Terry Jacks was also a member of the folk rock band The Poppy Family, which he formed with his then-wife Susan Jacks. The band achieved success in the late 1960s and early 1970s with hits such as "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" and "Where Evil Grows."
