Stafford was often compared to Elvis Presley due to his similar vocal style. Despite the success of "Suspicion," Stafford struggled to replicate its chart performance with subsequent releases. He continued to record music and perform live throughout his career, but he never achieved the same level of success as he did with "Suspicion." Stafford passed away in 1996 at the age of 54.
