Tex Ritter was an American country music singer and actor, born on January 12, 1905, in Murvaul, Texas. Known for his deep, smooth voice, Ritter began his music career in the 1930s and became one of the most popular country music artists of his time. He released numerous hit singles, including "I'm Wastin' My Tears on You" and "Jealous Heart." Ritter was also a successful actor, appearing in over 40 films, usually portraying a singing cowboy.


In 1964, Tex Ritter was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, recognizing his significant contributions to the country music genre. He continued to perform and act until his passing on January 2, 1974, in Nashville, Tennessee. Tex Ritter's legacy lives on through his music, films, and lasting impact on country music history.
