Texas is a Scottish band formed in 1986 by Sharleen Spiteri on vocals, Johnny McElhone on bass, Ally McErlaine on guitar, and Stuart Kerr on drums. They are known for their mix of rock, pop, and electronic music, and have released ten studio albums to date. Their debut album, "Southside," was released in 1989 and included hits like "I Don't Want a Lover" and "Everyday Now." The band achieved international success with their third album, "White on Blonde," which featured the popular singles "Say What You Want" and "Black Eyed Boy."


Texas has sold over 40 million records worldwide and has received critical acclaim for their catchy melodies and Spiteri's distinctive vocals. They have won numerous awards throughout their career, including a Brit Award for Best British Group in 1997. Texas continues to tour and release new music, with their most recent album, "Hi," being released in 2021.
