The group's lineup consisted of Fresh Kid Ice, Mr. Mixx, Brother Marquis, and Luther Campbell, who was also known as Luke Skyywalker or Uncle Luke. The 2 Live Crew gained notoriety for their album "As Nasty As They Wanna Be", which was the first album to be deemed legally obscene by the United States government.
Despite facing legal battles and backlash from various groups, The 2 Live Crew achieved commercial success with their music and became one of the most influential groups in the Miami hip hop scene.
