The Alan Parsons Project was a British progressive rock band active between 1975 and 1990, known for their concept albums and symphonic rock sound. The band was formed by musician and producer Alan Parsons and songwriter Eric Woolfson. Parsons, a former engineer at Abbey Road Studios, gained recognition for his work on The Beatles' "Abbey Road" and Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon. The Alan Parsons Project released a total of ten studio albums, with their most successful being "Eye in the Sky" in 1982, featuring the hit title track. The band's music often featured complex compositions, lush orchestration, and philosophical lyrics, with the use of synthesizers and electronic effects.
