Artist Bio:
The Allman Brothers Band was formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1969 by brothers Duane Allman (guitar) and Gregg Allman (vocals, keyboards), along with Dickey Betts (guitar), Berry Oakley (bass), Butch Trucks (drums), and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (drums). They were pioneers of the Southern rock genre, blending elements of blues, rock, and country music. Tragically, Duane Allman died in a motorcycle accident in 1971, but the band continued to achieve success throughout the 1970s. The Allman Brothers Band is known for their improvisational live performances and iconic songs like "Jessica," "Whipping Post," and "Midnight Rider." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
