The American Breed was a 1960s American rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois. The group was originally known as Gary & The Knight Lites before changing their name to The American Breed in 1966. The band's lineup consisted of members Al Ciner, Gary Loizzo, Charles Colbert, and Lee Graziano.
The American Breed is best known for their hit single "Bend Me, Shape Me," which peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1968. The song's success helped propel the band to national fame, and they released several more singles and albums throughout the late 1960s. Despite their initial success, The American Breed disbanded in 1970.
