The Ames Brothers were a vocal quartet from Malden, Massachusetts, consisting of four brothers: Joe, Gene, Vic, and Ed. They were active from the 1940s to the 1960s and were known for their close harmonies and smooth, polished sound. The group achieved popularity in the early 1950s with hits such as "Rag Mop" and "Sentimental Me."

The Ames Brothers had a string of successful recordings throughout their career, including over 50 albums and numerous singles that charted on the Billboard Top 100. They were known for their versatility, singing a mix of pop, jazz, and traditional standards. The group's popularity began to decline in the 1960s as musical tastes shifted, but they remained active in the music industry, performing in Las Vegas and on television. The Ames Brothers were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998.
