Artist Bio:
The Animals were an English rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in the early 1960s. They gained fame for their gritty, bluesy sound and energetic live performances. The band's original lineup included Eric Burdon (vocals), Alan Price (keyboards), Hilton Valentine (guitar), Chas Chandler (bass), and John Steel (drums).

One of their most well-known songs is "House of the Rising Sun," a traditional folk song that they transformed into a hit single in 1964. The Animals had a string of other successful singles in the mid-1960s, including "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" and "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood." The band went through several lineup changes over the years before officially disbanding in 1969. Despite their relatively short time in the spotlight, The Animals are considered one of the pioneering bands of the British Invasion and a significant influence on the development of rock music.
