The Archies were a fictional band that originated from the Archie Comics series. The band was created by Don Kirshner and first appeared in 1968. The members of the band were Archie Andrews, Reggie Mantle, Jughead Jones, Veronica Lodge, and Betty Cooper. The Archies were known for their bubblegum pop sound and released several successful singles, including their most famous hit, "Sugar, Sugar," which topped the charts in 1969. The vocals for the band were provided by studio musicians, including Ron Dante.
