The Artistics were an American R&B vocal group formed in 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. The group's original members were lead vocalist Curtis Binion, second tenor Larry Johnson, first tenor Jesse Bolian, baritone Aaron Floyd, and bass singer Marvin Smith. The Artistics are best known for their hits in the 1960s and 1970s, such as "I'm Gonna Miss You" and "Girl I Need You."
The group gained popularity in the Chicago soul scene and signed with Okeh Records in 1966. They released a series of singles and albums throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Artistics' music is characterized by their smooth harmonies and soulful sound. Despite several lineup changes over the years, The Artistics continued to perform and record music until the mid-1970s.
