The Astors were an American soul group formed in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1960s. The group consisted of four members: Sam D. Bell, Jr., Richard Harris, Harold "Scotty" Scott, and Oscar Stewart, who all shared a passion for music and performing. The Astors gained popularity for their energetic live performances and tight harmonies, which earned them a loyal following in the local music scene.


In 1965, The Astors released their most famous song, "Candy," which became a hit on the R&B charts. The song was produced by Isaac Hayes and David Porter, who were known for their work at Stax Records. Despite their initial success, The Astors disbanded in the late 1960s, with the members pursuing other musical endeavors. However, their music continues to be celebrated by soul music enthusiasts and collectors for its infectious grooves and soulful vocals.
