The original lineup consisted of Susanna Hoffs (vocals/guitar), Vicki Peterson (vocals/guitar), Debbi Peterson (vocals/drums), and Annette Zilinskas (bass). The band gained popularity in the 1980s with hits such as "Manic Monday," "Walk Like an Egyptian," and "Eternal Flame."
The Bangles' music is characterized by their catchy melodies, harmonies, and a mix of jangle pop and power pop influences. They have released several albums throughout their career, with their biggest commercial success coming in the mid-1980s. The band went on hiatus in the early 1990s but reunited in 1998 and continues to perform and record music to this day.
