The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. The Beach Boys are known for their intricate vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a Southern California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance.


The band gained popularity for their innovative music and influential sound, which blended elements of rock, pop, doo-wop, and R&B. Some of their most famous hits include "Surfin' U.S.A.," "Good Vibrations," and "Wouldn't It Be Nice." The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and continue to perform and record music to this day.
