The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. Brian Wilson served as the band's primary songwriter and producer, and is credited with pushing the boundaries of rock music with his innovative compositions and complex vocal harmonies.

Their music is characterized by catchy melodies, intricate vocal arrangements, and lyrics that often celebrate the California lifestyle. The Beach Boys achieved widespread success in the 1960s with hits like "Good Vibrations," "Surfin' U.S.A.," and "Wouldn't It Be Nice." They are considered one of the most influential bands of the rock era, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Despite internal tensions and personal struggles, The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and continue to perform to this day.
