The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. The Beach Boys are known for their close vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance. Their sound has been described as a mix of rock, pop, and doo-wop.


The Beach Boys gained popularity in the early 1960s with hits like "Surfin' U.S.A." and "I Get Around." Brian Wilson, the band's primary songwriter and producer, is considered one of the most innovative and influential figures in popular music. The group's album "Pet Sounds" (1966) is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time. The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
