The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. The band is known for their intricate vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance.


With hits such as "Good Vibrations," "Surfin' USA," and "Wouldn't It Be Nice," The Beach Boys gained widespread popularity in the 1960s and became one of the most influential acts of the rock era. They are often cited as one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands in music history.
